c h a s e - t h e - s t a r s -- you should know by now that my name is charlotte michelle collins, but please call me lottie. i like them much better! although my fake i.d. says differently, i'm really seventeen years old. cool, huh? i guess i could be classified as a celebrity, but i prefer not to be labeled. i grew up in the beautiful city of boca raton . fl, but i certainly like this town much more! want to know how i act? three words can tell you that: i'm positive, realistic, and romantic. yeah, i'm pretty amazing, aren't i? some say i look just like ariana grande, though i can't see it! jealous? i know. just look at how glamorous my life really is:
Charlotte Michelle Collins was born on the 30th of September to two very happy parents. Her mother, Susan, was a lawyer and her father, Steven, was a film director. Charlotte was spoilt quite considerably but it didn’t create a monster of a child, no, this little girl was picture perfect. Charlotte wasn’t the first child of these two parents, nor was she the second. Before Charlotte was born there was her oldest brother Lewis Collins, he was a good boy too but he was quiet, he grew up to live mainly in the shadows and is often seen as being the quietest of the Collins bunch. Charlotte also has a twin brother called Evan who is known for his theatre just like his slightly younger sister. The Collins’ were a pretty celeb family with a well known lawyer and a famous film director and then three children all with an interest in the arts. Charlotte and Evan were twins but people never believed them when they told them that because they didn’t really look very similar. The two twins were very close though always sticking with each other and attending many dance, drama and vocal classes together.
It was when Charlotte was eight that she started attending arts school and soon after realised it was the best place for her to be. Her parents were positive it was too early for her to go an arts school but after numerous tantrums and shows of her brilliant work she convinced them that she deserved her place there and after her audition she was swiftly accepted to the new york school of the arts and this uprooted the entire family. Evan continued to attend public school by choice but both auditioned for broadway shows and had vocal coaches. Don’t forget Lewis though, he was also in broadway shows but also thinking about the idea from a director side, as I said they were an artistic family. When Charlotte was ten she met Lucy, who was soon to become her closest friends. They were made room-mates but didn’t seem to click very quickly, both were outspoken but Lucy was a lot more negative that Charlotte. The two soon realised that their differences would be what would make them close though and they started doing everything together, they were attached at the hip.
At 13 came Charlotte’s first major broadway debut in the play thirteen in which all of the cast members were kids. She was in along with Lucy and her twin brother Evan, for Charlotte it was the best thing ever, she was experiencing something so wonderful with her friends and her family, she couldn’t have dreamt it better. Thirteen was the big break Charlotte needed to catapult her into fame. Soon after the show was taken off broadway Charlotte got numerous offers to be on numerous tv shows and she landed herself a pretty big one. At the age of fourteen Charlotte was playing the lead role on an abc family series about an arts school, it was called Cat and I and the show was set to be a huge success. With Charlotte’s voice taking over tvs everywhere and being broadcast over the computer to other continents her name began to be known. People queued up for hours to have their photo taken with the now red-head and pleaded her to tweet them a reply.
To Charlotte being famous wasn’t about the fame, it was getting paid to do what she adored to do and having people look up to her for it too. Charlotte loved to be a role model and she did everything she could to make sure she was a good one. She didn’t want to be a ‘miley cyrus’ or a ‘britney spears’ to her it really mattered whether parents deemed her as a good role model, she knew what being a kid was like, she knew that there was always that one person that you believed was perfect, that you wanted to mimic and although Charlotte knew she wasn’t perfect she was going to do everything she could to be as close as she could get. The filming for her show took place in Los Angeles and so the Collins’ family uprooted for their only girl once more. Charlotte felt bad for dragging her family around with her but they didn’t mind, it was perfect for the whole family. The children could jump into the arts along with their father and her mother could fight for celebrities with more money than sense. It took Charlotte a while to get used to the difference between the city that never sleeps and the all round sunshine but now she is loving California. Just remember, this girl may seem like sugar and spice and all things nice but hurt her and you’ll realise that she really does care.
